John Mulaney Recalls Son Malcolm’s Hilarious Wedding Moment and Life as a Big Brother
John Mulaney Reflects on Wedding with Olivia Munn and Their Son Malcolm’s Unforgettable Moment
John Mulaney and Olivia Munn’s wedding was a special day for many reasons, but their young son Malcolm ended up stealing the spotlight with a perfectly timed, unfiltered announcement.
During a March 10 appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Mulaney recounted a memorable moment from their summer wedding. At the time, Malcolm was just two years old and attended the ceremony dressed in an adorable tuxedo with shorts.
“He turned three in November,” Mulaney shared. “But at the wedding, he was still two, dressed up, and enjoying the event. Then, right in the middle of our vows, he made a very public declaration.”
The comedian laughed as he recalled the scene. “There he was, a very sweaty little 2-year-old in a tuxedo, and suddenly he just blurts out, ‘I’m pooping!’”
Mulaney and Munn are proud parents to both Malcolm and their daughter, Méi June, who was born in September 2024.
Over the summer, Munn captured a heartwarming moment between Mulaney and Malcolm, which she later shared on Instagram. The video showed the father and son sitting together, both unconsciously fidgeting with their fingers in the exact same way.
“It’s the same exact fidget. I can’t,” Munn wrote in the caption, noting that Malcolm had been mimicking the habit since he was just 10 months old.
Mulaney, amused by his son’s mannerisms, commented on the post, pointing out another detail. “He even breaks from the double-hand twitch to the single. A classic move.”
Since becoming a big brother, Malcolm has adapted well to his new role. Mulaney spoke about the transition in an interview with PEOPLE in November.
“He’s doing great. He likes it,” Mulaney said of Malcolm adjusting to life with a baby sister. “At first, I think he thought she might be some kind of toy because she’d squeak, and he’d be like, ‘How do I make it do that again?’ But now, I think he understands—this is his little sister.”
Mulaney and Munn continue to share sweet and humorous moments as they navigate parenthood, and it’s clear that their children bring plenty of joy and laughter to their lives.
